Quick Weight Loss For Teens Tips

It is a known fact that there are more overweight kids now than about 50 years ago. Naturally, some of those overweight kids carry their weight problems all the way to their teenage years, and even to adulthood. If your kid is in this situation, here are some tips for quick weight loss for teens, without having to resort to drastic measures like invasive surgery or even getting him or her on diet pills or enrolling your kid under an expensive gym membership.

Quick weight loss for teens # 1

Good nutrition always starts at home. You have to keep this in mind. Instead of keeping in check or even limiting severely what your kid eats, take a good, hard and honest look at what the entire family is eating. Teens develop their eating habits from what you teach them. So if you are a family of potato chip eaters, you need to wean the entire family from the chips and go for healthier options like fresh fruit and vegetables. Try not to create a meal plan only for your overweight teenager, while the rest of the family chows down on the unhealthy stuff. Your kid will only resent this and may sneak in meals outside your home.

Quick weight loss for teens # 2

Speaking of meals, try to ditch all the processed food you have at home – and that includes the frozen dinners and the “diet food” that you have been stocking up. These are loaded with extenders, preservatives and sugar in order to become palatable. Unfortunately, these are the same “low calorie” food that triggers hunger pangs which will subsequently make your kid eat more. Go for the fresh produce instead. This does not mean that you limit your kid’s diet to raw fruits and raw vegetables. You could try buying fresh meat from the grocery, use sea salt as marinade and cook this with fresh (not canned) vegetables or even fruits. You kid will learn how to prepare healthy food in the process.

Quick weight loss for teens # 3

Forcing your teen to exercise when he or she does not want to, can be a vicious fight. Why not engage him or her into an activity that you know your kid will like – and you will know this by simply asking them what they would like to do. If your teenager wants to learn skateboarding, then let them do so, even if you have misgivings about possible accidents. If he or she wants to learn to dance or learn how to play the drums, then let them do so. Try not to force your kid into activities without even consulting him or her. This makes your teenager more resentful of the fact that you did not ask in the first place.

Quick weight loss for teens # 3

Encourage your teen to drink more water or freshly made juice as a substitute for unhealthy snacks. You can do this by buying a juicing machine and even increasing your weekly supply of bottled water (which they can take to school.) Freshly made juice (without sugar) satiates hunger pangs without adding too much calories. Try to discourage the entire family from making protein shake smoothies, but go for the fresh fruits or vegetable juices instead. Water helps flush out more toxins from the body.

Don’t become anoexic because it will slow down your metabolism, therefore it will slow down your fat burner, and the minute you do eat you’ll gain a ton of weight and it will be harder to lose due to the decrease of your fat burner. And from your imformation your not fat… what are you like a 5 or 7 in jeans? I mean you should definately stay or get toned but not lose a bunch of weight, you’ll look like Kate Moss.

Whether it’s running, jazzercising, tae-bo, or brisk walking you need to get going! Cardio cardio CARDIO! I, personally, like to do Yoga and/or Pilates for half an hour BEFORE I go running. You’ll feel energized and plenty warmed up for the high impact stuff if you start with something mellow like that.

As far as the food, try to cut back on cheeses, breads, and pastries…not eliminate them, just cut back. No eating past 8 or 9pm, just have a soothing tea like Chamomile or water with lemon. Don’t skip breakfast and take your vitamins!

I’m 13 and i did this diet where you drink 1 gallon of water everyday for about a week. Everyone has excess water in there body that make them look bloated and by doing this you are telling yourself that you don’t need the extra water anymore and so you pee it out, sounds kinda weird but it’s totally true. Also if you have 40 grams of fiber a day for about a week then your body will get rid of "junk" in your body. I never did the fiber diet but i did the water one and it’s quite easy (but annoying since you go to the bathroom ALLOT!) I got in trouble though because I’m not allowed to be on any types of diets because i used to be anorexic. oh by the way going anorexic is not the ay to go AT ALL and trust me since i was and i’m still not over it all the way. Lifting weights isn’t exactly fun but it gets you toned up. You don’t sound like you are overweight though, but i shouldn’t be judgmental either. Getting out and walking or jogging or swimming or playing sports or anything active will help you lose weight. Another easy tip (one i don’t really like that much) is to make your plate as you normally would and then take half of it and just throw it away or put it back.

Instead of driving to work I walk there. It takes me 20 minutes each day. If you can’t do that, maybe you use lifts?
Then get off one floor earlier and walk the last bit.,.. it is only a few steps but doing them over and over will make you that extra bit fitter and then maybe you might want to get off two floor earlier.
You can also start drinking water only. These are all small steps but they work, the main point is sticking to these steps and adding more and more until you will be just fit.

    Here’s some weight loss tips.

Include at least two servings of vegetables for lunch and dinner. If you’re getting hungry, have a snack of vegetables.

Pick food that you can chew. Again, this will increase how much fiber you have, and the act of chewing will make you feel more satisfied too. This means eating fruit instead of drinking juice. If you have soup, make sure you have chunky soup.

Eat only when you are hungry. Some of us have the tendency to eat whenever we see food. We use parties as an excuse to stuff our selves. Understand that the effect of a whole week of dieting can be wasted by just one day’s party food. Whenever you are offered something to eat do not decline it completely but just break of a nibble so that you appear to mind your manners and at the same time can watch your diet.

Regular exercise is a must: Regardless of how much you follow your diet, if all day your a couch potato sitting on your couch and watching your favorite TV program, or surfing the internet, how can you plan to lose all that extra weight? You need to exercise regularly and not even skip a single workout session! If you are worried of a high intensity exercise such as cardio and resistance training, you may start with a lighter aerobics. Aerobics can make you burn as much fat as cardio. If you can’t do exercises at all, just doing regular walking will help you burn that extra fat.

Make sure that you get enough sleep. Experts say good sleep habits are conducive to exercise. If you feel worn out during the day, you are way less likely to get very much physical activity during the day.

Plus, there’s evidence that people who are tired, tend to eat more, using food as a substance for the rest that they need.
